House to Home Beautiful

11 Dec 2017 |  Inspiration

Over the past six months, Home Beautiful have followed Melbourne-based interior stylist Aimee Tarulli and her husband Frank of Thomas Archer Homes as they created their dream home.

Sharing expert advice throughout the process, from knock-down to rebuild and furnishing, the series provides a glimpse into transforming bricks and mortar into a contemporary family residence. Aimee chose key pieces from King Living to furnish her stunning dream home.

“My real brief for the house was that…
I want to take someone on a journey as they come through the house."

Taking pride of place in the central family living area is the Plaza modular sofa in premium Palm Beach Whitewash fabric. Practical and family-friendly, Aimee’s choice of the contemporary classic is ideal for the space.

“They have the best sofas and they really
last the test of time."

Aimee and Frank’s state-of-the-art kitchen sweeps into the dining area, which features the sleek marble-topped Former® Keel Dining Table. Bi-fold doors open to the lap pool and outside entertaining area, where the graceful King Cove setting in Cabana Breeze with ceramic accessories makes a statement. "We wanted to create an outdoor area that was very much connected to the house".

Lines and texture make the statement in the formal living room. A nifty step down shifts the floor levels and creates an intimate space for the Felix 3 Seater in Timo Gesso fabric. Marble accents and minimalist accessories keep the room polished and sophisticated.

Stepping into the master bedroom, one is almost overwhelmed by the room’s opulence. Lavish textures coupled with a chic, neutral palette delivers luxe hotel-room vibes. Thoughtful design sees the bedroom flow into the luxurious ensuite and expansive walk-in wardrobe, creating an organic, connected, yet open space. King Living’s Encore Bed in Embrace fabric is contrasted with the elegant low-back Seymour chair in sumptuous ‘Silk’ Prestige leather. The play on textures provides a wonderful tactile element.

The thoughtfully considered guest bedroom features the Neo Bed in King Luxe fabric, with Venus side tables perched on either side. The romantic muted pinks are carried through the room from the artwork and linen to the plush Oliver Tub Chair in Boho Velvet.

Aimee and Frank’s study is the perfect space to retreat, with the Felix Studio Bed in King Club fabric providing a cosy multi-purpose solution. As a chic, space-saving sofa, the Felix transforms into a sofa bed for guests. King Living Crescent Ottomans in various sizes are added for comfort, texture and colour.

In six months, Aimee and Frank have built and furnished a spectacular family home. An ode to luxe-practicality, their Melbourne residence fuses contemporary design and functionality, finished in time to enjoy upcoming festivities.
