25 Year Steel Frame Warranty Plus

Welcome to the King Living Warranty Plus program which has been designed to ensure you are provided with the best possible protection for your new furniture.

Unlike ordinary furniture, King furniture is manufactured without staples. The removable cover system enables for the easier replacement of components allowing King furniture to outlast and out perform ordinary furniture.

Our aim is to ensure your furniture stays looking great into the future, and in the unlikely event a problem may arise, it will be dealt with appropriately and with a minimum of inconvenience to you.

THE WARRANTY

The following only applies if you are a deemed “consumer” under the Australian Consumer Law and may not apply in your particular case. In telling you the following, we do not vary or extend the remedies otherwise available to you. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

ADDITIONAL WARRANTIES

We choose whether to repair or replace, and that is the limit of our liability under this additional warranty. This additional warranty does not cover any damage caused by the use of other than genuine manufacturer’s parts and consumables. Note: for any item that is not actually manufactured by us, we will only provide that repair or replacement service to the extent that we can obtain the manufacturer’s approval to do so on their behalf, otherwise we will not offer that repair or replacement warranty for such an item. Purchases of indoor products manufactured by King Living after the 1st January 2015 will be covered against component failure for a period of up to 25 years from the date of purchase under the following terms and conditions:

1. The steel or alloy frame used in each piece of King furniture is warranted against failure due to a manufacturing fault for a period of up to 25 years from the date of purchase.

2. Other components including, King Leathers, King Fabrics, foam, feather and fibre fillings, suspension, springs, mechanisms including sofa bed mechanisms, zippers, touch fasteners and legs (but excluding electric and motion components) are warranted against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of 15 years according to the Pro Rata Schedule* provided in this brochure.

3. Electric and motion components for all King furniture are warranted against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of 2 years.

4. Accessories manufactured by King Living (excluding electrical accessories) are warranted against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of 2 years.

5. Electrical accessories manufactured by King Living are warranted against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of 12 months.

6. Fabrics, leathers, suspension components, cushioning and fillings will show signs of wear and tear with use. Normal wear and tear is not covered by this additional warranty. Fabrics and leathers will fade and crease. Foam and fillings will soften and form to the shape of the user over time. Depending on the covering and the degree of use, the covering materials, cushion fillings and suspension may need to be replaced periodically at the purchaser’s expense. Scars, marks and differing pore density and colour are natural characteristics of leather and not to be considered defects.

7. Any repair or replacement under this warranty is limited to the defective part only. Freight, house calls, labour and other items are charged to the purchaser at standard King Living rates and are not included in this warranty. Covering components replaced under this additional warranty may vary in colour and texture to the original.

8. King Living reserves the right to decide whether a component should be repaired or replaced. King Living Customer Service must be notified of any defect within 14 days of the defect occurring.

This additional warranty will end immediately if the furniture becomes defective as a consequence of misuse, use outdoors, lack of proper care and maintenance, commercial use or handling in transit. To benefit under this additional warranty, the purchaser must forward to King Living a completed warranty registration card supplied within 14 days of purchase.

Unlike ordinary furniture, King Living is manufactured without staples. The removable cover system enables for the easier replacement of components allowing King Living to outlast and out perform ordinary furniture. Our aim is to ensure your furniture stays looking great into the future, and, in the unlikely event a problem may arise, it will be dealt with appropriately and with a minimum of inconvenience to you.

  • Other components including, King Leathers, King Fabrics, KingWeave, foam, feather and fibre fillings, suspension, springs, mechanisms including sofa bed mechanisms, zippers, touch fasteners, legs and outdoor accessories are warranted against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of two years.
  • Fabrics, leathers, suspension components, cushioning and fillings will show signs of wear and tear with use. Normal wear and tear is not covered by this additional warranty. Fabrics and leathers will fade and crease. Foam and fillings will soften and form to the shape of the user over time. Depending on the covering and the degree of use, the covering materials, cushion fillings and suspension may need to be replaced periodically at the purchaser’s expense. Edge Collection 2 Year Warranty

The Edge Collection is warranted against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of two years from the date of purchase or otherwise in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law as set out above.  Any repair or replacement under this warranty is limited to the defective component only. King Living reserves the right in its discretion to decide whether a component should be repaired or replaced. 

What is not covered by the Edge Collection Warranty:

Fabrics supplied by outside suppliers and purchaser’s own fabrics are not included in this warranty. Fabrics and leathers supplied by outside suppliers may be covered by the supplier’s own warranties. 

Freight, house call, labour and other items are charged to the purchaser at standard King Living rates and are not included in this warranty. 

Wear and tear is not covered by this warranty. King Living reserves the right to determine in its discretion whether a component has failed due to a defect or wear and tear. Any item requiring replacement due to wear and tear will be at the purchaser’s expense. 

The warranty will end immediately if the furniture or component becomes defective as a consequence of misuse, lack of proper care and maintenance, commercial-use or handling in transit. 

Timber Veneer is a natural product and colour variations due to exposure to the local environment are not covered by the warranty. 

Components replaced under this warranty may vary in colour and texture to the original and such variations are not considered a defect.

This warranty applies to the original purchaser only who may not assign or transfer any benefit conferred by this warranty. For the purposes of any protection from King Living, all subsequent purchasers acquire the furniture “as is”.

How to claim under the Edge Collection Warranty:

To benefit under this warranty, the purchaser must forward to King Living a properly completed guarantee registration card supplied within 14 days of delivery of purchase. King Living Customer Service must be notified of any defect within 14 days of the defect occurring at the telephone number 1300-13-KING (5464) or by email to service@kingliving.com.au.    

Disclaimer of all other warranties and obligations: 

This warranty and King Living’s obligations thereunder is in lieu of all other warranties (except for those provided under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded) whether expressed or implied, including without limitation all other representations made to the original purchaser. 

2 Year Warranty

A two year warranty against failure due to a manufacturing fault applies automatically to all recliner electric and motion components contained in the Product. If a failure occurs during the two year warranty period, we will repair or replace your Product. You should 
cease using the Product and contact King Living Customer Service (1300 135 464) immediately with details of the failure. We will then make arrangements with you to repair or replace your Product. 

3 Year Extended Warranty

The two year warranty above can be extended for eligible Customers for an additional three years (thereby totalling five years) 
for $ per recliner module/seat (Extended Warranty) provided that:

  • the Customer delivery address is in the metro area of cities with a King Living Showroom (Eligible Customer Address) and;
  • that the Product remains at the Eligible Customer Address for the Extended Warranty period. Please check with our staff to confirm that your address is an Eligible Customer Address for the Extended Warranty. If a failure occurs during the Extended Warranty period, you should cease using the Product and contact King Living Customer Service (1300 135 464) immediately with details of the failure. We will then make arrangements with you to repair or replace your Product.
